About Diana

Whether she’s playing a lively summer samba or a sultry blues melody, Diana McNulty is a flutist who strives to deliver performances that are casual, intimate, and vibrant.

As an independent artist, she enjoys the freedom to create and explore new projects and move in new directions when the wind takes her. Her album Summer Skies, is a collection of jazz and Latin favorites. Work has already begun on her next album which will be almost entirely comprised of original works with an energetic, new-age feel. She offers live solo performances on flute, with electronic accompaniment in jazz , Latin , and lounge styles.

Diana lives in southern Maine and received her Bachelor of Music degree from the UMaine School of Performing Arts, where she studied under Liz Downing. She feels that finding ones 'musical self' is a journey, and part of that involves always learning and seeking new inspiration. As part of this continuing education, she has attended masterclasses and workshops by Marianne Gedigian, Patricia George, and Sir James Galway.

Diana is a member of Pi Kappa Lambda, the National Music Honor Society. She has performed with a plethora of groups from symphonic bands and orchestras, to musical theatre pit and small ensembles. Diana works with free lance soloist as well as collaborating with other local musicians, including Southern Maine’s Finest Flute Ensemble: Piping Hot Flutes!.

When she’s not working on her music career (or her day job), she likes to soak up inspiration from the sky with her paraglider. Flying has taught her to strive to reach her full potential, while still experiencing joy in the present moment.
